Stein hall process or the conventional adhesives usually have less mileage, as Starch itself is used as a thickener to give the viscosity. Generally, around 15-20% starch is initially mixed with caustic soda just to give viscosity and it has nothing to do with the bonding. Therefore the mileage of adhesive while making Carton Boxes declines.
When T5 is used, the entire starch that is used is used to give bonding. Thereby, the mileage of the adhesive is enhanced.
T5 has to be mixed with starch powder before making the gum.
The gel temperature/pH/Viscosity remains constant.
